This test is designed to help 9th graders explore their strengths and weaknesses in English, mathematics, reading, and science. The content is similar to the ACT Plan and the ACT.

ACT Explore

ACT Aspire

A new assessment that offers summative testing in grades 3-10. This test measures how much students have learned over time, informs teachers about academic progress, and helps teachers better understand students’ learning needs so they can tailor their instruction. This test is a replacement for ACT Plan and ACT Explore. It will be introduced fall 2014. It is designed to be taken on a computer, allowing for more dynamic and interactive test questions. Paper versions are also available.

ACT Plan

This test serves as the midpoint measure of academic progress in the ACT's college and career readiness system. It measures current academic development, helps students explore career and training options, and provides schools with information about students’ achievement. Covers English, math, reading, and science. It also includes an interest inventory. It is taken in 10th grade and administered by the school.

The ACT Test

The ACT is a college readiness assessment that looks at students’ academic readiness for college. The test includes subjects of English, math, reading, science, and an optional writing test. It is best taken spring of Junior Year and again in the fall of senior year if needed. It is offered 6 times a year in September, October, December, February, April, and June. This test may be used for admission decisions, college course placement, scholarships, and loans. The ACT (no writing) costs $36.30. The ACT (Plus writing) costs $52.50.

MME

In Michigan, the ACT is offered as part of the Michigan Merit Examination (MME). The MME consists of the ACT Plus Writing, the WorkKeys job skills assessments in reading, mathematics, and 'locating information', and a Michigan developed assessment for mathematics, science, and social studies.
