Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.ed.gov
Every student applying for financial aid must complete the FAFSA. Start by applying for a personal identification number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov
This PIN will allow you to "sign" your online FAFSA.
You will need to collect your income tax returns and W-2 forms (records of income).
Complete the FAFSA starting January 1st. It is important to complete it as soon as possible.
You will receive a Student Aid Report. Review this and make any corrections to your FAFSA online.
FAFSA4caster: Provide some basic information and this will estimate your eligbility for federal student aid.

CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE student.collegeboard.org/css-financial-aid-profile
Some colleges require the CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE to award their private funds. After completing the registration process, the PROFILE application is customized to the individual needs of each student. This is service is provided by the College Board and costs $25 per school.
